Welcome to Sony Community!
When using the VAIO recovery disc, it will automatically play and reinstall everything in it. You can't just choose a specific setting because it downloads on its own. You've mentioned that the discs stopped at a certain percent, if this is happening then it's possible that it's already corrupted.
If you haven't modified your laptop yet, it's better to do a reformat using the hidden partition but make sure to back up all your files first.

Windows 7 pro want to re-install
I want to Re-install windows 7 pro, long time ago i had x64 bit system but then there was a need to re-install windows (something went wrong) and I got x32bit system. Now i want to get back to the x64 but to download ISO for it i need a key and my pre-installed windows key it gives "The product key you entered appears to be for software pre-installed by the device manufacturer. Please contact the device manufacturer for software recovery options" so this is why i am writing here.

How do I replace both the HDD and SDD on a SVT13124CXS. Is there a way to clone the drive to a replacement?
I run a program a disk management program called Sentenal. Both the HDD and SSD have low health issues. From Internet searches, it appears that I cannot just put in another drive. Seems there's an issue in regard to the HDD being a hybrid with a 32 SSD cache drive. So what HDD drives can I use as a replacement or am I better off changing to an SSD drive and get rid of the 32GB cache? Can I, or do I need to, clone the existing drive to the replacement?

The link that I've provided you is on how to go to BIOS page. The BIOS Update is only available if Sony releases one. If not then you have to stay with the BIOS version provided for your laptop. What is the current operating system running on your device?

JenF, I knew that the new update of bios to appear when the company release the new one its version of that, but the company must have trustable support website page for their products, sometimes bios could get damaged and must be repaired and the peoples need to use at least the old version it but also I check the bios update with program of <<biosagentplus_822>> and the new version has been released but you should be paid for use that, why the Sony website shouldn't have the neccessery update for their own product, it is unacceptable

Max supported CPU on VPCL111FX (PCV-A1111L)
I have a Sony VAIO VPCL111FX (PCV-A1111L) AIO desktop. According to its specs, the system board supports Socket LGA775.
What is the maximum CPU type supported by this model? Technically, Socket LGA775 supports Intel Xeon @ 3.40GHz. Will the system board work with this CPU or is it configured to work with specific CPU types?

I've SVF114N132CXB with intel HD graphics 4400 with 2176 MB Total Graphics Memory. But my Dedicated video memory is only 128 MB.

Help with outdated sony vaio laptop outdated and not been on for over a year
I have a sony vaio the computer is out of date I just received the power cord and turned it on but I am concerned about overloading the system with updates and making it completely useless. The current operating system is Windows XP model number PCG-7A2L VGN-FS640/W Is is possible to upgrade to Windows 8 or 8.1 without causing more problems? I have WiFi internet and wanted to wait until I can get some guidance knowing how quickly it can turn into total ****** very quickly. Thia computer seems to be in good shape other then the outdated XP so if I should just use it as it is I can make adjustments as I really do not care for Windows 10 at all it seems as we move ahead we lose more and more control over our computers. Any help or input would be greatly appreciated.

It will be very very challenging to upgrade the OS, you see, according to the specs info page of yr computer, it has:
-512 MB memory only, unless you previously updated to at least 4GB
-Graphics card is 128 MB,
-Processor is 1.6 Ghz
Hardwares are kind of weak to run Windows 7 or Windows 8/ 8.1

I have notebook Sony Vaio SVE11136CAP from China, when I try to start, I'm press power bottom nothing happens!! Just the fan turn at the maximum speed and the led of state is green !!
I have change the ram ! Also nothing, o was use external screen with the VGA or HDMI out ! Aslo nothing.
I was try the support button but nothing on the display !!
Please any solution for my Laptop!!?
